DomiGate-Panel: a rugged Android-based entrance panel with a front camera, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and LTE, powered from mains with battery-charge limiting.

The production enclosure and the locked-down configuration are in development. The facts on this page describe the design and our test installation.

An ESP32 board (development kit today, production board in development) on its own regulated supply, with one relay output, inputs for the door position and the enclosure tamper, a pairing button and status LEDs.

Mount it on the secured side, within Bluetooth range of the panel. Test the signal strength at the real spot before fixing it.

A fail-secure electric strike, 12 V DC, fed from its own 12 V supply, never through the controller’s regulator.

The relay pulses it open: about three seconds by default, five seconds hard maximum, two seconds minimum between pulses. No power means locked.

Wire the door reed contact and the enclosure tamper contact as normally-closed loops, so a cut wire reads as open or as tamper. Use external pull-ups and a small RC filter on long runs. The inputs are 3.3 V logic only.

Terminals are reserved on the board but not active in the current firmware. Emergency exit must be provided by the door hardware and the building’s fire system, independently of Domi Gate.

Outbound only: the panel opens the connections to the server. No port forwarding, no fixed IP; carrier NAT and IPv6-only SIMs are fine.

Wi-Fi first with a SIM as fallback is usually the cheapest.

A data-only or M2M SIM is recommended. Idle traffic measured on our bench is about 110 MB per month; a 60-second clip upload is about 27 MB; calls are smaller than clips.

Record the number and the PUK off the device, and disable the SIM PIN.

Three separate rails from shared mains: the panel, the controller, the strike. On power loss the strike stays locked and the panel runs on its battery; everything recovers without manual steps when power returns.

Fire alarm and emergency-egress functionality must not depend only on BLE, Android or normal application software. Emergency exit must be provided by the door hardware and the building’s fire system, independently of Domi Gate.
